WebGemAI is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Chrome extension.
WebGemAI does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information about the user. The extension operates locally within your browser.
Your Gemini API key is stored locally in your browser using Chrome's built-in storage API. It is not sent to any external servers or stored elsewhere. The API key is only accessible by this extension and is isolated from other extensions or websites.
WebGemAI captures screenshots of the visible part of webpages you're viewing. These screenshots are used solely for generating context-aware responses to your questions using the Gemini AI. Screenshots are not stored permanently and are discarded after each session.
WebGemAI uses Google's Gemini AI API to generate responses. Your questions and the captured screenshots are sent to Google's servers for processing. Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy for information on how they handle data.
You can remove your API key at any time by clearing the extension's storage in Chrome's settings. To do this, go to chrome://extensions, find WebGemAI, click on "Details," then click on "Extension options" or "Extension settings."
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized or unlawful processing, accidental loss, destruction, or damage.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
